In accordance with the UK Government’s Great British Summer Savings campaign, Lappa Valley at Newlyn East in Cornwall has announced it is reducing its prices by passing on to visitors the full VAT reduction.

The reduction will last from Thursday, 25th June to Tuesday, 1st September this year, and will mean that for this period, VAT will be reduced from 20% to 5% on qualifying family attractions and children’s meals.

The net effect for visitors will be lower admission prices during this period, making it cheaper to enjoy a day out riding the trains and enjoying the playgrounds and adventure parks.

The savings also apply to qualifying food items purchased from the children’s menu, meaning youngsters get their favourite meals at a much cheaper rate of 5% VAT.

Although the new prices don’t start until 25th June, the booking system has been updated to take account of them, and they are now live on that booking system. During the summer, Lappa Valley can often get busy, so it is always better to pre-book tickets online, especially during busy holiday periods.

Anyone who has already booked tickets for the period covered by the VAT reduction should have already received an email from Lappa Valley with more information.

New for this year is a Picnic and Paddle activity, with a woodland walk and picnic area where there is a paddling stream that is safe for children to play in. A great attraction on the 10¼-inch gauge railway is the locomotive Duke of Cornwall, which has been repainted into the livery carried by the Cornwall Air Ambulance’s helicopters.
