There will be disruption to CrossCountry train services through Birmingham over the next two weekends due to engineering work associated with HS2 construction.

The work will take place in the Saltley and Washwood areas of Birmingham and affect trains between Birmingham New Street and Coleshill Parkway.

Engineers will be demolishing a viaduct at Saltley and a bridge in Aston Church Road, which crosses the railway line between Birmingham and Derby.

Demolition of the structures is to enable the construction of the new HS2 line beneath them. For the next two weekends, Saturday, 6th/Sunday, 7th June, and Saturday, 13th/Sunday, 14th June, train services on the following routes will be affected:

• Birmingham New Street to Leicester, Peterborough, Cambridge, and Stansted Airport.
• Cardiff Central to Birmingham New Street and Nottingham.
• Scotland and the North East to Birmingham New Street and the South West.

Rail replacement bus services will be provided between Birmingham New Street and Coleshill Parkway. Anyone intending to travel on CrossCountry trains through Birmingham over the next two weekends should check their journeys at www.nationalrail.co.uk.
