Numerous stations across East Anglia now have new anti-trespass measures in place.

Greater Anglia has installed a range of measures, including fencing, witches’ hats (rubber surface deterrents), and gates.

The measures have been installed at:

• Eccles Road
• Gunton
• Harling Road
• Hatfield Peverel
• Lakenheath
• Manea
• March
• Roughton Road
• Shippea Hill
• Spooner Row
• St Margarets
• Stowmarket
• Thetford
• Trimley
• West Runton
• Whittlesea
• Wymondham

The project to prevent people from accessing the track began at the start of the year, and its completion coincides with Rail Safety Week.

“Safety is our top priority on the railway, and these measures are designed to help keep people off the tracks and away from danger.

“The railway is not a playground. Anyone who goes on the tracks without permission is putting their life, and the lives of others, at serious risk.

“If you see someone on the tracks, please alert a member of rail staff immediately or dial 999 in an emergency.”
