The West Somerset Railway’s annual diesel gala is set to return between 4 and 7 June, marking four days of intensive operations between Bishops Lydeard and Minehead.

The event features visiting locomotives including Class 37 No. 37250, Class 47 No. 47714, and Class 26 No. 26007, alongside home fleet traction provided by the Diesel and Electric Preservation Group at Williton.

From 4 to 6 June, an intensive diesel timetable operates, with steam services scheduled for June 7. The gala provides an opportunity to travel the full 20-mile line, with additional attractions at Bishops Lydeard, Blue Anchor, and Minehead, including museums and model railway displays.

Services are scheduled at an intensive frequency over the 20-mile heritage line, showcasing diesel traction throughout the core days of the event.

Also on selected days, the Williton depot and workshops will be open to visitors, with the Taunton Model Railway Group in attendance at Bishops Lydeard from June 5–7.

On Sunday, June 7, the ‘Kids For A Quid’ offer applies to accompanied children, while advance Rover tickets remain available via the West Somerset Railway website or by calling 01643 70996, Mondays to Fridays.
