At the end of the month, passengers are being prompted to plan ahead during upcoming sporting events at Wembley Stadium.

The Rugby League Challenge Cup final takes place on the 30th May, followed by the Women’s FA Cup final between Brighton and Manchester City on the 31st May.

The weekend of 30th/31st also coincides with engineering work near Milton Keynes, and HS2 works near London Euston.

Trains are set to run into London Euston at a reduced rate, and Wembley Stadium station will also be closed over the weekend.

Additionally, the London Overground Lioness Line will not be operating due to maintenance work.

Across both days, Chiltern Railways will add seats by running extra services on the Chiltern Main Line between the West Midlands and London Marylebone.

“Over the last weekend of May we will be completing vital upgrades to drainage on the West Coast Main Line, which will help trains to continue running smoothly and with reduced disruption in future.

“We appreciate there is never a good time to disrupt the railway, and we would like to thank passengers for their patience while this work was taking place.”

Gary Walsh, West Coast South route director for Network Rail
