Due to engineering work this weekend, services between Bedford and Mill Hill Broadway in north London will be disrupted.
Network Rail will be carrying out projects at numerous sites, including replacing 300 metres of track at St Albans, upgrading drainage at Radlett, installing new points at Radlett Strategic Freight Interchange, and continuing the work at Luton.
This means that there will be no Thameslink services between Bedford and Mill Hill Broadway, and East Midlands Railway services will not run south of Bedford on the 9th and 10th May.
Between Bedford and Hitchin, there will be replacement buses in place of EMR services, with Great Northern/Thameslink running services between Hitchin and London.
Thaeslink will also have replacement buses in place running between:
- Luton Airport Parkway and Hitchin via Luton
- Harpenden and Potters Bar via St Albans City
- Mill Hill Broadway and Luton
- Bedford and Luton.
For full details of the alterations, check with relevant operators or via National Rail.
“This weekend we’re carrying out further improvement work to make the railway more reliable and resilient for passengers and freight. This includes renewing track at St Albans, upgrading drainage and installing points at Radlett, and continuing our work to deliver step‑free access at Luton station.
“We appreciate everyone’s understanding while these important improvements take place, and we’re sorry to anyone whose journey will be affected.”
Dan Matthews, Network Rail operations director
