Transport for Wales (TfW) is backing an initiative for children to attend a residential centre’s summer camps.

This is the second consecutive year that TfW has supported the camps, which are held at the Urdd residential centre, and has renewed its support for the ‘Cronfa Cyfle i Bawb’ (Fund for All) initiative hosted by Urdd Gobaith Cymru, which aims to promote Welsh language and culture.

For the next seven days, Saturday, 23rd, until next Friday, 29th May, Europe’s largest youth arts and culture festival, the Urdd Eisteddfod, takes place at Anglesey Showground.

To celebrate the Eisteddfod, Transport for Wales has rebranded one ot its Class 197 trains, which, since being introduced last year, has become loved by passengers.

Transport for Wales will also have a stand at the Anglesey Showground, sharing it with infrastructure partner Network Rail to provide information about the benefits of recent changes to train timetables, and imparting the importance of safety whenever people are on and around railways.

Two years ago, Transport for Wales introduced a special menu on its trains in celebration of the National Eisteddfod.
