Visitors to the Llangollen Railway can now have an even better experience by enjoying a traditional Afternoon Tea at Llangollen station’s platform 2.

Even better, Afternoon Tea can be enjoyed in a beautifully restored heritage carriage, with views from the carriage of the stunning River Dee, a historic bridge, a famous Corn Mill, and the spectacular ruins of Castell Dinas Brân.

”Afternoon Tea on Platform 2” brings all the charm and elegance of the railway’s popular travelling Afternoon Tea service at a more affordable price. It takes place every Thursday and Friday from 1 pm until 3 pm in a static heritage carriage at Llangollen station’s Platform 2. It is ideal for guests to enjoy a freshly prepared traditional Afternoon Tea, bringing together friends and families, having a celebration, or simply enjoying an afternoon beside the river.

Included in the Afternoon Tea are freshly made sandwiches and freshly baked fruit scones with jam and clotted cream, freshly made cakes and sweet treats, and tea or coffee served. Sparkling wine is also available as an optional extra.

The cost for the Afternoon Tea is a very reasonable £25 for adults and £10 for children, and for those with a larger appetite, they can have an extra scone for £2, extra cakes for £5, and extra sandwiches for £5.

As well as the regular Afternoon Teas, the Llangollen Railway has the Ultimate 80s Weekend on Saturday, 23rd and Sunday, 24th May, and a Ploughman’s Pint Special on Father’s Day, 21st June.
