The Llangollen and Corwen Railway has announced a special evening of steam and fireworks set in the scenic Dee Valley, as it opens ticket sales for its ‘Ride the Rocket’ event on Saturday, 7 November 2026. 

Trains will depart from Llangollen Railway Station at 6 pm, for a return journey to Corwen aboard a restored vintage steam locomotive, passing through the autumn scenery of the valley as dusk falls.

On arrival in Corwen, the journey concludes with a fireworks display organised in partnership with the Corwen Fireworks Committee. The display is one of the largest in North Wales and marks the region’s seasonal celebrations.

The service offers passengers a heritage rail experience by night, with views of woodland, rolling hills, and riverside landscapes along the route. The event is suitable for families, couples, and railway enthusiasts seeking a distinctive evening out.

From 5 pm, visitors at Llangollen Railway Station can purchase food, including stews, hot dogs, and jacket potatoes, ahead of departure.

Tickets are priced at £28 for adults and £10 for children. The annual event attracts visitors from across North Wales and beyond, so booking ahead is advised due to anticipated demand.
