Rapido Trains UK has announced details of three new OO Gauge model ranges, including a pre-grouping era steam locomotive.

The first model is a Southern Railway O Class 0-6-0 steam locomotive, with liveries also from the South Eastern Railway (SER) and the South Eastern & Chatham Railway (SECR).

The models are of highly detailed diecast metal and injection moulded construction, with many separate era-specific details, and feature a firebox flicker with a dynamic fire draw effect.

Three South Eastern Railway versions are being produced, in Cudworth green, and in lined black with red and red and yellow lining.

Four South Eastern & Chatham Railway models include two in Wainwright green, a plain green, and a grey version. Southern Railway models include lined or plain black, both with Egyptian lettering.

The models will be priced at £209.95 for DCC Ready and £319.95 for DCC Sound Fitted, and further information about the new O Class models can be found here.

The second OO Gauge pre-grouping is from Rapido’s Evolution range, and is an Open Carriage Truck, in 22 different varieties, and will be an ideal accompaniment to the third range of new models, a horsebox. There will be three designs of the truck side panel, a removable carriage load in three different styles, and most liveries will match the Evolution Coach range.

The Open Carriage Trucks feature items associated with open carriage trucks of the pre-grouping era, including metal strips on the vehicle floor for the carriage wheels, and removable crossbars, which can be adjusted in position to hold specific loads in place.

Three different carriage types include versions with a covered cupboard door, a covered drop flap, and an open drop flap. Three different side panel designs include open frame, panelled, and plain.

The large range of designs includes Caledonian, Cambrian, GCR, GER, GNoSR, GNR, GWR, Highland, L&Y, LBSCR Plain Mahogany, LBSCR, LMS, LNER, LNWR, LSWR, LT&SR, Metropolitan, MR, NER, SDJR, SECR, SR.
