The Mid Suffolk Light Railway has confirmed dates for its ‘Middy in the 1940s’ event, which will take place on Sunday, 24 and Monday, 25 May 2026 between 10:30 am and 4:30 pm.

The heritage railway will recreate life in the closing days of the Second World War with a programme aimed at families, enthusiasts, and visitors alike.

Steam-hauled services will operate from 11 am using historic Great Western Railway coaches. At the same time, passengers will also be able to travel behind the line’s resident Pecket and Sons 0-4-0ST locomotive ‘May’, built in 1915.
