The first production samples of Dapol’s new N Gauge Class 56 models are expected to be delivered to Dapol’s factory, at Chirk near Wrexham in North Wales, by the end of this month.

Four production samples will be included in the first batch, comprising No. 56006 in BR Blue, No. 56007 in Transrail livery, No. 56054 in BR Railfreight Coal livery, and No. 56059 in EWS livery.

Three other samples are expected to follow by the end of June or the beginning of July. These include No. 56131 in blue with a large BR logo, No. 56302 in Fastline livery, and No. 56303 in DCR livery. However, deliveries may be delayed due to current problems with international shipments from the Far East, where the samples have been produced.

The price of the new models will be £156.60 for DCC Ready, and £188.99 for DCC Fitted versions.

These new models follow four new N Gauge Class 33 models announced in February, Class 33/1 Nos. D6509, D6523, and D6580 in BR Green, and Class 33/0 No. 33056 The Burma Star in BR Blue. Other N Gauge models expected this year include London & North Eastern Railway Class B17 4-6-0s.
