The Gloucestershire Warwickshire Steam Railway has confirmed its mystery guest for its upcoming Cotswold Festival of Steam.
LMS Black 5 No. 45110 will be visiting for the gala courtesy of West Coast Railways
45110 hauled The Fifteen Guinea Special back in 1968 to mark the end of steam on the mainline.
45110 joins 34070 Manston, 229 ‘Coffeepot’, 419, 78022 and GWR Railcar No. 22 alongside 3850, 2807 and 6880 Betton Grange.
This marks a big step in the overhaul of 45110, having been stabled in The Engine House at Highley for a number of years before being sold.

Is good to see that 45110’s back in traffic and will be good seeing it operational at a heritage railway rather than be cooped up inside Carnforth shed like every other loco there is at 10A except for 34067. Am hoping it visit’s the Severn Valley for the 2026 Autumn Steam Gala & especially hope it does eventually return to the mainline when kitted out.

Anything that goes to the GWSR has to arrive by road as no mainline connection. Be same story if it was 44932.
