British Transport Police are investigating the death of a man on the railway near Balcombe earlier this month.
Officers were called to the tracks near Balcombe on the 5th May, around 4:15 am, after reports came in about a casualty on the tracks.
Officers and paramedics attended the scene; unfortunately, Paul Mason, aged 63, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers are appealing for anyone who spoke to him in the days prior to come forward with any information on Paul and the circumstances leading up to his death.
Anyone with information or who saw Paul in the Balcombe, Haywards Heath, and Ansty area between the 2nd and 5th of May should contact British Transport Police by texting 61016 or by calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 50 of 5 May.
