Appeal for victim and witnesses after man assaulted in Devon

British Transport Police have launched an appeal for both witnesses and victims of an assault to come forward.

The assault occurred on the 1st May at around 4:30 pm on board a train from Exeter to Copplestone.

On board the train, two men began to harass two young women, and when another man intervened, the two men assaulted him.

Both of the men, aged in their 40s, were arrested at Eggesford railway station on suspicion of assault and a Section 5 Public Order offence.

They hope that the victim and any witnesses come forward with any information to help with their investigation.
