A high-value theft occurred in South Yorkshire in March, which the British Transport Police are now investigating.

They have released images of a man whom they would like to speak to, as he may have information that will aid in their investigation.

The incident occurred on the 26th March at around 5 pm, when a 16-year-old boarded a train at Doncaster with his bike.

The bike was a black Scott Ransom bicycle worth £6,000. Once he boarded, he left his bike in the vestibule and sat nearby.

A man approached the bike, looked around for the owner, and took pictures of it before pulling his hood up and taking off with the bike at Kirk Sandall station.

Should anyone recognise the man, they are advised to contact BTP by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40, using the reference 2600039380.

Reports can also be made anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
