Engineering work will improve reliability for Ely passengers, with almost 1,000 yards of travel and six sets of points set to be replaced.
Track work is taking place on the 25th/26th April as well as 2,3,4,9,10,16 and 17th May.
Work will take place on the 21st and 28th June to complete the work and check that the track has been bedded in.
A number of changes to trains will affect travel and Network Rail is urging passengers to check before travelling
Greater Anglia says that trains will be replaced by buses between Thetford and Cambridge North as well as Bury St Edmunds and Peterborough.
East Midlands Railway’s Liverpool to Norwich service will terminate at Peterborough, with onward buses to Norwich.
CrossCountry will see buses in operation between Peterborough and Cambridge for their Birmingham – Stansted Airport services.
Great Northern says that its London Kings Cross to Kings Lynn services will be replaced by buses between Cambridge and Kings Lynn.
“This work is essential to keeping our services running smoothly through what’s an extremely busy junction at Ely, and support the punctual, reliable service our passengers expect.
“A rail replacement service will run while the work takes place, so we’re encouraging passengers to check before they travel and allow more time for their journey.
“We’d like to thank everyone for their patience and understanding while this work is carried out.”
