Passengers in Nottingham are being reminded of upcoming changes and the importance of paying to travel.

Nottingham Express Transit (NET) is updating its Penalty Fare Policy from the 1st May to reduce fare dodging.

Their Penalty Fare Notice is being increased from £70 to £120; however, first-time offenders will be able to access a new early payment discount if paid within 14 days.

This reduces the payment to £60, although if the notice is left unpaid, they could face a further fine of £1,000 and could be liable for prosecution.

The change has been brought on by figures from 2025 that revealed over 10,000 people were caught without a valid ticket.

Further information on the Penalty Fares and the appeals process can be found on their website.
