Dovetail Games has released a new version of a TRAXX locomotive for Train Sim World 6.
TRAXX locomotives have been in service across Europe since the late 1990s, and the latest version for Train Sim World 6 is a DB BR 147, which has an updated cab and a more rugged-looking body. It has a maximum speed of 160 km/h, and is mainly used on DB Regio passenger services.

In Train Sim 6, the BR 147 is well-suited for operation to an all-new 2018-era timetable on the Frankenbahn: Stuttgart – Heilbronn line, where it usually operates in push-pull configuration with either n-Wagens or Dostos, normally at the front of the train heading to Stuttgart, and at the rear, propelling the train in the Heilbronn direction.
The new DB BR 147 is totally different to the BR 187 already in the game, with new features including train faults, including for a pantograph failure, sticking wiper blades, and faulty doors on the passenger coaches. It also features audible passenger announcements, in-depth screen navigation, including displaying your stopping pattern, and more ergonomic controls – such as having the AFB toggle on the AFB Lever instead of on a separate switch.

The new 2018 timetable will allow use of the recently released Expert DB BR 145 instead of the BR 147, which is appropriate as it is when BR 147s were being introduced into service. Also added to the release is a Stuttgart S-Bahn DB BR 423, to allow emulation of a full programme of S4, S5 and S6 services. Inclusion of the new BR 423 eliminates the need to use the Frankfurt S-Bahn layer on the 2000s timetable, so that there is no longer a need to access that gameplay.
Other additions to the new release include a BR 110 from Bremen – Oldenburg to add variety to the ‘Karlsruher Kopf’ KaKo cab car on services to Bad Wildbad. Long-distance express services feature an ICE 3M from Pfälzische, and a DB BR 101 also makes two full-length runs of the line, while shunting at Stuttgart is carried out with a BR 363. Other additions allow substitution of a DB BR 294 instead of a BR 363, and for owners of Rhein-Ruhr Osten, a combination of DB BR 140 and MRCE BR 185 traction can be used for a service to Stuttgart Hbf.
Completing the release is a DB BR 628 from Niddertalbahn at Heilbronn, ICE 1 from Kassel – Würzburg, ICE-T from Frankfurt – Fulda, ÖBB 1116 from Semmeringbahn, FlixTrain BR 193, and a remastered DB BR 442 from Köln – Aachen.

DB BR 147 for Train Sim World 6 costs £14.99 and is available on Epic Games Store, Steam, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5.
