In January 2024, a stabbing occurred at Stawberry Hill station, resulting in the unfortunate death of 21-year-old Anojan Gnaneswaran.
The attack occurred on the 8th January, when two groups arranged a deal of £50 for MDMA tablets, which would be exchanged at the station.
Dino Donaldson, aged 21, and his group arrived just after 10 pm, with Anojan arriving later. A disagreement between the two occurred, with Anojan calling his brother for help.

Donaldson became more aggressive and proceeded to pull out a knife, where he chased the group, catching Anojan and stabbing him in the chest, abdomen and thigh.
Despite Anojan’s brother calling 999 and performing CPR, the paramedics were unable to save him, and he passed away at the scene.
British Transport Police launched an investigation, led detectives from its Major, Serious and Organised Crime (MSOC) team and tracked Donaldson.
Following the tracking of Donaldson’s movements and DNA analysis on the knife hidden near the scene, an arrest warrant was executed.

Donaldson was found at his home hiding in a cupboard on the 11th January.
Donaldson has now been found guilty of murder following a trial at London’s Old Bailey on the 14th April 2026.
He will be sentenced on the 19th June.
“What started as an argument over a drug deal ended in a young man’s life being cut short by a remorseless thug.
“Donaldson showed his true colours as a coward by arming himself with a knife that night. His cowardice has continued by never accepting responsibility and admitting his crime – thankfully the jury saw through his lies.
“He will live the rest of his life knowing he has taken someone else’s, and when he’s sentenced he will learn that he has a long time behind bars ahead to mull over his actions.
“While no verdict can ever compensate for the loss of Anojan, I hope today’s outcome provides his family with some sense of closure. Thanks to our extensive investigation, justice has now been served to the man responsible for killing their loved one.”
