The Northampton and Lamport Railway is appealing for donations to help the railway take official ownership of a steam locomotive.
0-6-0 saddle tank locomotive, No. 16, was built in 1934 and spent its working life in Northamptonshire before withdrawal in 1969.
Donations received will help with the initial cost of the purchase, as well as a cosmetic overhaul.
They currently have a target of £9,000, with over £1,000 raised already and they are welcoming donations of any size.
