There will be a reduced service running to and from London Waterloo over the weekend until Monday, 6th April, with all trains that usually leave the Reading side of Waterloo station starting and terminating at Clapham Junction.
Engineering works have been ongoing between London Waterloo and Clapham Junction across several of the bank holiday weekends over the last year, as several points and a lot of the track have been re-laid on the western side of the main line between these two stations.
This weekend, Network Rail will be installing new points outside Waterloo station into what was the former Eurostar terminal which is now used by South Western Railway services. There will also be strengthening work being carried out on the railway bridge over Lambeth Road. While work on installing a scaffolding crash deck below the footbridge between platforms 3 & 6 at Clapham junction, will enable future work to be carried out as part of a long term project to upgrade the bridge.

Service changes
Trains to and from Reading, Windsor & Eaton Riverside, Weybridge via Staines, and Waterloo to Waterloo via Richmond and Kingston will start and terminate at Clapham Junction. Passengers travelling to and from London Waterloo will need to change trains here.
Trains will still be leaving London Waterloo but will be running to an amended timetable.
Passengers travelling to destinations in the South West are reminded that other engineering works are taking place in the Honiton and Southampton areas.
Queenstown Road (Battersea) station will be closed across all 4-days of the Bank Holiday Weekend.

On Sunday, 5th April, buses will replace trains between Clapham Junction and Barnes due to engineering works. All trains will start and terminate at Barnes. Services to Hampton Court will run hourly on this date, while the Waterloo to Waterloo via Richmond and Kingston services will run from Barnes to Kingston only.
Passengers are strongly urged to check their services before they travel across the Easter Weekend and allow plenty of time to complete their journeys.
“We are asking passengers to check before they travel as services from London Waterloo are changing over the Easter weekend. London Waterloo is one of the busiest stations in the country, switches and crossings are heavily used and need to be replaced over time. Carrying out this work will help give our passengers a more reliable railway as well as smoother journeys for years to come.”
Speaking on behalf of South Western Railway and Network Rail Wessex, George Murrell, Route Renewals Director
