An event was held at Harlington station on Monday (27th April) to mark the official opening of the new footbridge.
The new bridge was installed in December last year, with the old one removed earlier in April.
The new bridge is designed to last 120 years and saw engineers make overhead line improvements during its installation.
The station itself also got some upgrades, including the renewal of platform surfaces, tactile paving and CCTV.

Good to see a new footbridge installed at Harlington railway station in Bedfordshire. Shame it’s not step-free accessible that would have included lifts.
No lifts, but I guess this kept the cost substantially down and made this renewal possible.
I also wonder how the cost of maintaining the increasing number of lifts at station footbridges will be covered in the future.
When you look at the broken down and unrepaired lifts in Council maintained tower blocks, it does not make you optimistic about the future status of station lifts
