Ahead of the upcoming Coral Scottish Grand National and Scottish Gas Men’s Scottish Cup semi-finals this weekend, ScotRail has confirmed additional services and seats.

Football fans will be heading to Hampden from Glasgow for two events, one on the 18th April (Dunfermline Athletic and Falkirk at 12.30) and the second on the 19th April (Celtic and St Mirren at 14.00).

The operator has confirmed additional seats and services between Glasgow Central and Mount Florida to help people attend.

Additional seats are also being added to services between Glasgow Central and Ayr for horse racing fans on the 17th and 18th April.

Passengers should be aware that some entrances to Glasgow Central remain closed due to the recent fire, resulting in exclusion zones.

There will be additional staff on hand to direct customers to the correct trains, but passengers should allow extra time to travel as queues will be in place.

Passengers should also book tickets in advance to save time.

“ScotRail is looking forward to helping sports fans travel to Hampden and Ayr Racecourse this weekend.

“We’ll be doing all we can to help you get to the events as hassle-free as possible, which includes more seats and services.

“Queuing systems will be in place before and after the matches and the racing, so please make sure you know where to go, and our staff will also be on hand to direct you.

“Buying your return tickets in advance as mTickets on the ScotRail app will reduce your need to queue and help your journey run smoothly.”

Phil Campbell, ScotRail Customer Operations Director
