Next Tuesday, 10th March, will be a momentous time for Train Sim World 6 with the release of trains and challenges in Czechia, formerly the Czech Republic.

That is when Vector Simulations will release its Liberec – Stará-Paka route, which represents part of a single-track line between the regional capital city Liberec and the conurbation of Hradec Králové and Pardubice in Eastern Bohemia.

The 75 km route includes 11 stations, nine stops, eight tunnels, and 80 bridges, and a total ascent of about 300 metres.

Passenger services will be in the hands of a Class 843 single-unit railcar. These have been operating on rural routes throughout Czechia since 1995, and are often paired with Class 043 (or Btn) coaches to increase capacity.

Two variants of the Class 843 are included, with either traditional or LED headlights, and in two distinct liveries: blue & white, and red & cream. The variety of services ranges from semi-fast to slower stopping trains, which can take nearly 2 hours to complete the route.

Freight services are hauled by Class 750 diesel locomotives, which are often referred to as “Goggles”, for their distinctive cyclops-like protruding cab windscreens; five liveries will be available, including modern blue and classic red.

There are several types of freight trains; most are of the traditional pick-up goods type, which pick up and drop off wagons at stations, factories, or yards, but there are also general and express freight trains.

The timetable is based on operations around 2018, with 59 services operated by the Class 843 railcar and 44 freight trains hauled by Class 750s.

The Liberec – Stará-Paka route costs £32.99, and will be run on PC (Steam, Epic Games) and Gen 9 Console platforms (Xbox Series S/X and PlayStation 5).

This venture into Czechia follows Dovetail Games’ release of the first German route Add-on for Train Sim World 6: Frankenbahn: Stuttgart – Heilbronn Add-on.
