Staffordshire murder investigation launched

Yesterday (8th March), Staffordshire Police officers attended Tamworth station car park in the early hours following reports of an unresponsive man.

Follow the reports made at 2:20 am, officers and paramedics attended; however, they were unable to resuscitate the 28-year-old man, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

British Transport Police have taken the lead in the now murder investigation, and a 28-year-old woman has been arrested.

Forensic examination of the scene is ongoing, and a scene guard remains in place.

British Transport Police have urged anyone with information to contact them as soon as possible via 0800 40 50 40 or by texting 61016 quoting 60 of 8 March.

“Our specialist family liaison officers are providing support to the victim’s family and our thoughts remain with them at this time.

“We are urging anyone with any information or anyone who witnessed events leading up to the man’s death to get in touch with us.”
