Following some winter maintenance and inspections, the Brecon Mountain Railway is set to return in full steam from this weekend.
Both of their steam locomotives underwent boiler examinations, with both passing and set to operate for 2026.
Every element of the locomotives was inspected and serviced during a comprehensive strip-down of components.

Part of this included their boiler inspection, conducted in two parts: a cold examination, performed when locomotives are out of steam, and a hot examination, performed when back in steam to ensure good performance under operating pressure.
They will be operating across weekends this month with their full season beginning on the 28th March.
They have events planned, and further information on when trains are running can be found on their website.
