This weekend, on the 22nd March, buses will replace trains to allow for Network Rail to complete an aspect of an ongoing signalling upgrade project.
The buses will be in place between Leeds and Knaresborough, with Northern running the replacement buses and will accept LNER tickets between Leeds and Harrogate.
Most of the work for this project, which started on the 19th January, has been carried out overnight to prevent disrupting services, and this work is one of the last aspects before the project is completed.
They have been replacing track circuit equipment, signal control cases, and collapsible signal posts are being installed.

The new equipment needs to be tested, which is why services are being affected on Sunday to ensure that the equipment works reliably.
While they have already disrupted services, staff will be refurbishing points and signals at Harrogate.
Further information and journey planning can be found online.
“These essential upgrades will replace ageing signalling equipment with modern, more reliable technology that will help keep services running smoothly for passengers and improve safety for railway workers.
“We’re grateful for the public’s patience and understanding as we carry out this work, and we’re sorry to anyone whose journey is affected when buses replace trains between Leeds and Knaresborough on Sunday 22 March. Please remember to check before you travel.”
