Between 9 and 12 April 2026, the London Transport Museum will open its Depot in Acton Town for a rare behind-the-scenes look at over 320,000 objects from the city’s transport past.

This year’s event celebrates big milestones in London transport history, including 120 years of the Bakerloo and Piccadilly lines, and 70 years of the iconic Routemaster bus.

Visitors can explore historic trains and buses, try out signalling equipment, and enjoy live demonstrations, talks, and interactive activities for all ages. Highlights include designing your own Routemaster badge, taking a pop-up tour of the Piccadilly line, and storytelling adventures along the Bakerloo line.

A series of programme talks is set to take place during the Depot Open Days, with subjects ranging from art on the underground to secrets of the Bakerloo line.

Food, music, and a pop-up shop featuring exclusive souvenirs add to the festival atmosphere. Adult tickets are £19, children £10, and under-3s go free. Concessions are available for residents of Ealing and Hounslow.

2026 is set to be an exciting year for the London Museum of Transport, with an amazing range of things to see and do happening over the course of the year and beyond.

Celebrate London’s transport heritage and discover the stories behind the icons that shaped the city. Further information, as well as ticket booking, can be found on the London Transport Museum website.
