To allow for the refurbishment of the footbridge at Hampden Park station, Network Rail will be removing it over the weekend.
The station is often used to change trains, so passengers are being reminded to allow extra time to change platforms until mid-April, when the work will be completed.
The bridge will receive a fresh protective coating to help shield the steel from weathering, and the stairs and decking will also be replaced with more durable materials.
The new coating will last around 15 years, and the new materials will last around 25 years.
Further strengthening work, tactile paving, handrails and safety mesh will also be installed to ensure its safety.
From the 7th February, station users will be required to use the level crossing to change platforms.

Passengers are also reminded that on the 8th February, the station will be closed to allow for a crane to remove the bridge. Replacement buses will be in place between Polegate, Eastbourne and Hastings.
“The footbridge at Hampden Park is a vital part of our operation, so it’s good news for the community that Network Rail is investing in its refurbishment.
“But our passengers will need to allow plenty of extra time to cross from one side of the station to the other, bearing in mind that if there are trains in the vicinity, the level crossing barriers will be down. And if you’re changing trains then I’d advise against it – travel into Eastbourne instead as you may struggle to make the connection.”
