UPDATE: Disruption has now cleared and trains are running normally again

Transport for Wales services are being delayed in Shropshire this evening due to a police incident.

Disruption is expected until 7 pm this evening and means trains may be delayed by up to 20 minutes or cancelled.

The incident is affecting trains between Shrewsbury and Machynlleth and will have a knock-on effect for services between Birmingham International, Bangor, Shrewsbury and Aberystwyth as well as trains on the Cambrian Coast Line between Pwllheli and Machynlleth.

Rail replacement buses are running between Shrewsbury and Machynlleth, but TfW says this will take longer than trains usually do.

Please see National Rail Enquiries for more information.
