Govia Thameslink Railway (GTR) is running a competition next week where one lucky customer will receive free travel among a host of other prizes.
The competition, titled “Destination Dash”, asks entrants to support ‘Team Southern’, ‘Team Thameslink’, or ‘Team Great Northern’, as employees from each operator compete in challenges that highlight the attractions of destinations served by GTR.
To add excitement, a celebrity will support each team as they compete to host the most exciting social media. Challenges will take place in London, Hertford and Cambridge.
Freddie Fraser, star of The Traitors, will join Team Thameslink, Mica Ven, a Gogglebox legend, will support Team Southern, and comedian, Fatiha El-Ghorri, will join up with Team Great Northern.
The competition runs from Sunday, 15th February, until 3 pm on Tuesday, 17th February. Entrants need to log onto the Instagram accounts of Thameslink, Southern, and Great Northern, watch the ‘meet the team’ videos on GTR’s Instagram, TikTok and YouTube channels. They must then follow their account and comment on the video of the team they think will win, either #TeamThameslink, #TeamSouthern, or #TeamGreatNorthern as appropriate.
The deadline for entries is 3 pm on Tuesday, 17th February, and entrants must tag a friend they will share the prizes with should they win.
The winning team will be announced on Thursday, 19 February, with the winner selected from among those who backed the winning team, and winning the following prizes:
- Free return travel for up to four people to London, Hertford North, and Cambridge.
- A free game at The Crystal Maze LIVE Experience.
- A ‘Love Hertford’ luxury hamper with a value of about £100.
- A £100 ‘Visit Cambridge’ gift card.
- A one-month Stagecoach East Cambridgeshire Plus Megarider worth £140.
Freddie Fraser commented that he is naturally competitive, so he will love leading Team Thameslink. Fatiha El-Ghorri added that she is going to have the best time completing challenges across the railway with Team Great Northern.
