Dapol has announced plans to release a range of N Gauge models of six-wheel milk tankers
The new N Gauge models follow the announcement last week of six-wheel tankers in OO Gauge in the liveries of Primrose Dairy of St. Erth in Cornwall, and Ridlers Ciders of Hereford.
There will be six livery variations of the new models, including: United Dairies, United Creameries in silver, Express Dairies Milk For London, St Ivel/Unigate Creameries, United Dairies Wholesale (UDW), and the Milk Marketing Board (MMB).

The new models represent typical examples of six-wheel tankers introduced after World War II, with over 600 being produced.
Although the liveries applied to the tanks denoted which company, the ownership of these tankers was unusual in that the chassis were owned by the railway companies, but the tanks were owned by the milk producers, giving rise to the large number of liveries that could be seen on Britain’s railways on steam days.

The recommended retail price for the wagons is £18.99, and they will be available in shops towards the end of this year.
Dapol has released a video showing how wheel sets for its models are assembled in a fully-automated process.
