Ravensthorpe station has been closed since December for Transpennine Route Upgrades and will remain so until 2028.
They have made some good progress so far on the Calder Road bridge and Baker Viaduct.
Their aim is to move the station 200 metres from its current location to help facilitate longer platforms, overhead line equipment, and new rail alignments.
Other projects, including the bridge work, are to be carried out to allow the other work to take place, which is advancing well, with concrete beams installed, and the parapets are currently under installation at Caldr Road.
Sixteen of the eighteen columns to support the Baker Viaducts have also been completed.
“We made great strides across Ravensthorpe last year, and the recent closure of the station has helped us accelerate progress.
“We’re looking forward to a busy 2026 in the area, and are excited to deliver an improved, modernised station that will improve the customer experience and support better rail journeys across the North.”
