The 2025 season has been very successful at the Epping Ongar Railway, with the Southern Giants Steam Gala, Ghoul-busting expeditions, and festive events being a huge hit.

The railway is now closed to the public as winter maintenance begins to ensure an even better 2026 season.

Both maintenance and training programmes will continue, and trains will still operate on the line.

These services will not operate to a timetable during this period, and the public is reminded not to trespass on the railway, as doing so could result in serious injury.

The railway’s steam and diesel services, along with vintage bus services, will resume during the February half-term.
