Transpennine Route Upgrades in Huddersfield and Deighton will see a series of road closures at the end of the month.
From the 30th January until the 4th May, weekday and weekend closures will occur at Colne Bridge Road, A641 Bradford Road/Northgate, and A62 Leeds Road.
The A641 will be closed to pedestrians and vehicles, while the A62 and Colne Bridge Road will remain open to pedestrians.
The closures will occur periodically, with advance notice signposted, and where full closures are necessary, the three roads will not be closed at the same time.
During these closures, engineers will work to strengthen the Huddersfield viaduct, and utility diversions will be completed to the A62 and Colne Bridge Road, which will allow the future installation of two new fast lines and overhead equipment.
Further information on the closures and when they occur can be found online.
“These road closures form a pivotal part of TRU plans to upgrade the railway through Huddersfield, Deighton and beyond. We have taken every measure we can to limit disruption, and encourage road users to check the latest information before travelling.
“We’re really grateful for the understanding and support amongst the local communities while this work takes place, which is helping deliver a better railway across the North.”
Sophie Leishman, TRU sponsor
