The Keighley and Worth Valley Railway has announced that LMS Black 5 No. 45407 The Lancashire Fusilier will be visiting them for their upcoming Spring Steam Gala.
The locomotive visits thanks to Ian Riley.
45407 will arrive late on the eve of the Gala and will make a departure not long after the Gala finishes as it has railtour duties to complete.
45407 joins other visiting locos, 5029 Nunney Castle and 34046 Braunton for the gala alongside the KWVR home fleet.
Tickets for the gala, which will take place between the 19th and 22nd March 2026, are available now, and the timetable is getting a few tweaks, but should be available soon.

Regarding the name of this railway, did anyone else watching More 4’s Favourite Railway Stations programme, wince when one of the presenters, Siddy Holloway, pronounced it the “Keely & Worth Valley Railway?
Funny you should say that Christopher. Yes, I found it strange as I always assumed it was pronounced Keithley, although I had never actually noticed the actual spelling.
As for 45407, it was my Dad’s favourite loco when he was on the footplate, it was of course nameless back then.
Cheers. Les.
Regardless of the spelling… It’s a funny place and it is pronounced ‘keith-lee’
Locals are very proud of that for some reason!
Cheers Matthew. I thought I was on the right track with the pronunciation.
