Across January, Network Rail has been carrying out track upgrades between St Ives and St Erth.

The two weeks of work meant that services were disrupted, and replacement buses were in place.

The work has now been completed, and trains have begun running on the line again.

To ensure the line remained reliable, 2,140 yards of rail, ballast and sleepers were installed.

During this closure, footbridge work at St Erth station was ongoing and is also now open.

“This stretch of railway is vital for the local community and the thousands of visitors who come to the St Ives area every year.

“A reliable train services makes travelling much easier, takes thousands of cars off the local roads and provides a boost to the local economy.”

Stuart Stevens, Network Rail project manager
