Brighton is the subject of the latest episode of a television series looking at Britain’s favourite railway stations.

This is the third episode of the More4 series Britain’s Favourite Railway Stations, in which transport historian Siddy Holloway and architect Damion Burrows assist presenter Si King.

In this week’s episode, which is being transmitted on the More4 channel tomorrow, Thursday, 22nd January at 9 pm, Si King will take viewers on a tour of the hidden spaces underneath the station, including a cab road dating back to the Victorian era. Si also finds out how millions of passengers travel to one of Britain’s most popular seaside resorts each year.

Other episodes in the series see Si King, Siddy Holloway and Damon Burrows on the Lynton & Barnstaple Railway in Devon and travelling to Sheringham on the Norfolk Coast, where they find two very different stations, one serving the heritage North Norfolk Railway, and the other, the terminus of the Bittern Line on the national railway network.

Another episode explores Barry Island in Wales to find out how the railway laid the foundations for day trips to the seaside and transformed the country’s social life.

Filming of the Brighton episode took place over two days in early August 2025.

Siddy Holloway came to prominence when, along with Tim Dunn, they presented the series Secrets of the London Underground.

“It was a real joy to welcome Damion to Brighton this summer. The station is a jewel in the railway’s crown with its stunning cast iron and glass train shed offering a magnificent welcome to the city. “I hope viewers across the country enjoy taking a look behind the scenes at Brighton on the television and, if they haven’t already, consider a trip by train to the coast this summer.”
