UPDATE: Lines have reopened. Disruption will last until end of service

Major disruption is affecting trains between Bournemouth and Southampton Central due to a signalling fault.

The fault has closed all lines and means that trains may be cancelled or severely delayed.

With engineers en route to fix the problem, major disruption is expected until 2 pm today (29th January).

CrossCountry says that passengers can use their tickets on South Western Railway services, or CrossCountry services (either the two before or two after a cancelled service).

South Western Railway says that tickets will be accepted on CrossCountry, Great Western Railway, Bluestar Buses, Morebus and First Bus.

Rail replacement buses are also expected at Southampton Central, Brockenhurst, Bournemouth and Weymouth, and these will run on demand and to no set timetable.

The latest travel advice is available on the National Rail Enquiries website.
