London trains disrupted and suspended after electricity failure

East Midlands Railway and Thameslink trains are being disrupted this evening due to an issue with the electricity supply.

The failure has happened at Elstree and Borehamwood and means some lines are blocked.

Trains on East Midlands Railway’s London Intercity route will be delayed by up to 20 minutes between Luton and London St Pancras and some services will stop at Wellingborough and Bedford.

Trains between London St Pancras and Luton Airport Parkway / Corby have been suspended for the rest of the day in both directions.

Ticket acceptance is in place between Bedford and London St Pancras with Thameslink.

Buses are expected to run between Corby and Kettering until the end of the day

Thameslink are experiencing delays to southbound trains towards London with other lines affected:

  • Trains between Bedford and Three Bridges via Redhill will be suspended
  • Trains between St Albans City and Sutton via Mitcham Junction / Wimbledon may be cancelled
  • Trains between Peterborough and Horsham may stop additionally at Earlswood and Salfords

Thameslink has ticket acceptance in place with East Midlands Railway, Southern, South Western Railway, London Underground, London Trams and London Buses.
