The Great Central Railway have made Loughborough Central station more accessible.

Yesterday morning, they officially opened a new lift at the station, which was funded by the Edith Murphy Foundation, the Helen Jean Cope Charity, and the East Midlands Railway Community Fund.

This upgrade plays a huge role in the railway and helkping more visitors enjoy the railway.

Platform Lifts and the GCR team worked together for the installation, and GCR has expressed thanks to their funders, who made it possible.

  1. This is good news. The previous lift had become very unreliable and made visiting the GCR at Loughborough a bit of a gamble for disabled people who were probably best advised to go to Quorn and travel on a train from there!
