Across this weekend (24th and 25th January), Network Rail will be carrying out upgrades to a level crossing.
The Sudbury level crossing in Derbyshire is in need of track and drainage renewals and new crossing components, which will result in service alterations.
A diversion will be in place for motorists, and buses will replace trains on the 24th between Derby and Crewe and between Derby and Uttoxeter on the 25th.
During the weekend, 80 metres of track will be renewed along with 120 metres of drainage, which will help the crossing become more reliable and safe.
Journeys can be checked online.
“We’d like to thank passengers, motorists and residents for their patience while we complete this upgrade at Sudbury level crossing. Renewing this section of track will help improve the reliability of trains and reduce maintenance costs, and carrying out the work over a single weekend means we can keep disruption to a minimum.”
Dan Matthews, Network Rail operations director
