Next week is Samaritans Brew Monday, and Greater Anglia is supporting it with a series of events at stations.
Brew Monday is part of a campaign launched by Samaritans to dispel ‘Blue Monday’ and encourage people to connect with others.
It helps turn a difficult time into something positive, allowing people to relax and have a cuppa.
Both Samaritans and Greater Anglia will be at stations across the network on the 19th January, including:
- Cheshunt
- Broxbourne
- Harlow Town
- Ware
- Stansted Mountfitchet
- Bishops Stortford
- Cambridge
- Colchester
- Chelmsford
Following this, on the 26th January, the Wherry Lines Community Rail Partnership and the Lowestoft Central Project will host another Brew Monday event at Lowestoft station.
On the same date, the Samaritans will also be at Clacton-on-Sea station.
As always, people are reminded that Samaritans is free to contact at any time. Further information on how to contact them can be found online.
“We are proud to be supporting Samaritans Brew Monday campaign again this year. It is so important that we continue to share this message with both our passengers and our colleagues.
“Samaritans has worked in partnership with Network Rail and the wider rail industry since 2010, encouraging people to recognise the power of human connection and to start a conversation that could save a life.
“By taking part in Brew Monday, we are putting that into practice and helping to challenge the Blue Monday myth, one cup of tea at a time.”
Georgia Payne, Greater Anglia’s Safeguarding and Community Safety Manager
