Following its recent arrival in Southport, the Railway 200 Inspiration Train’s next stop will be Crewe.

Avanti West Coast will be welcoming the interactive train between the 15th and 19th January.

The exhibition train is free to enter, but must be booked in order to experience each of the four carriages.

Local organisations, including Balfour Beatty and Alstom, will be at the station highlighting railway heritage.

A special visit from Pete Waterman will take place on the 17th January, when he will be on board Inspiration.

If you are unable to visit this location, dates have been announced until March, so there are plenty of opportunities to visit the train. If you are unable to visit in person, a virtual tour is also available.

Tickets for Crewe can be booked online.

“With Crewe having a proud railway heritage and being a key hub on the West Coast Main Line, it’s great to be hosting this special train as part of its tour. We’re joining local organisations to celebrate 200 years of the railways and look to the future, showcasing its importance in Crewe and across the UK.

“The train’s visit promises to be an exciting event, and we cannot wait to welcome people onboard. We hope to inspire a passion for rail among the next generation, so our railways continue to thrive for years to come.”

Taryn Banks, Avanti West Coast Station Manager at Crewe
