This month, engineering work will be carried out between Edinburgh and Fife to electrify the section of the line.
Due to the nature of the work, no trains will run between Hayarket and Dalmeny, so ScotRail has arranged alternative travel.
Services will be affected from the 17th January until the 25th January, with engineers working around the clock.
Services will be diverted where possible and run rail replacement buses, with alternative public transport also available.
ScotRail has advised passengers to plan ahead and know which alternative travel options are available for their journey.
Full details are available on ScotRail’s website.
“The work being carried out by Network Rail is a critical step in the electrification of the railway in Fife and will deliver long-term benefits for customers.
“We recognise that this type of disruption can be inconvenient, and we’re grateful to customers for their patience and understanding while these vital improvements are completed.
“By setting out clear alternative travel arrangements in advance, we want to give customers the information they need to plan their journeys with confidence.
“Some journeys will take longer during the works, but we’ll continue to provide support and clear information to help keep customers moving. I’d urge everyone to plan ahead and check their journey before travelling, either on our website or via the ScotRail app.”
