Since the start of the new timetable last Sunday, 14th December, Avanti West Coast has increased services on its route between London Euston and Liverpool.
There are now more services on the West Coast Main Line than ever before, and for most of the day, there are two trains per hour between Liverpool and London. An added benefit of the new timetable is a direct hourly service between Liverpool South Parkway and London on weekdays and Saturdays; 170 trains are now scheduled to stop at Liverpool South Parkway each week.

Other changes include a weekday return service between Hartford and London, with a travel time of less than two hours. The morning service departs from Hartford at 08:10, and the evening return service departs from Euston at 18:43.
Over 20,000 extra seats are now available on 2,083 scheduled Avanti West Coast services each week, the highest ever number on the West Coast Main Line. Avanti West Coast’s new £350m Evero fleet of 13 bi-mode Class 805 and ten electric Class 807 trains has been the driver for the improvement of services.

Introducing a stop at Liverpool South Parkway provides convenient connections to Liverpool John Lennon Airport, with a shuttle bus linking the station and the airport every 10-20 minutes throughout the week.
Elsewhere on the West Coast Main Line, there are additional stops at Tamworth and Lichfield Trent Valley on services between Liverpool and London.
The increase in services comes on top of 86 extra services introduced by Avanti West Coast in September. Avanti West Coast was recently granted permission to continue running an early morning service from Manchester to London.
“We’re delighted to be delivering on our promise to increase our services between Liverpool and London. The introduction of services at Liverpool South Parkway station and the new direct link to the capital will add a huge benefits to the wider region. The uplift in services means that we are now running more services than ever across the West Coast Main Line. We’re continuing to grow our timetable in a measured and sustainable way – maintaining the standards our customers rightly deserve.”

I still think that Avanti West Coast could run a new direct service to Shrewsbury from London Euston via Milton Keynes Central, Birmingham New Street, Wolverhampton and Telford Central and to use the Bi-mode Class 805 Everos next year or in 2027.
