Sadly, over the weekend, a person died at Preston station, and detectives are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

Police were called to Preston just after 1am on the 29th November, after a member of the public reported a casualty at the station to members of staff.

Paramedics also attended, but sadly, a person was pronounced dead at the scene, with enquiries ongoing.

Police are urgently appealing to find the man who first reported the incident, as he may be able to aid their investigation.

The man is believed to have travelled on a train to Blackpool North, which left Preston at 00:58.

If you were the man who informed the member of staff or otherwise have information that would help the investigation, please contact BTP by texting 61016 or by calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 41 of 29 November.

You can also contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
