With the timetable changing this weekend, and a new morning service being launched from Whitby, Northern has marked it with special offer tickets.
Those travelling on the Esk Valley line will be able to start their day earlier, with a new morning train departing at 7:24 am, launching on 15th December.
Passengers will be able to arrive in Newcastle by 10:20 or Middlesbrough by 9 am.
To mark this change, Northern is offering tickets for £2 when tickets are bought in advance between the 15th and 24th December.
The tickets are for selected services, and the offer cannot be accessed unless it is booked in advance.
Book now before the limited stock runs out. Further information is available on their website.
“The new early morning train from Whitby is something that our customers have been asking for now for many years, and I’m pleased that we have finally been able to deliver this with the December timetable change.
“The new early morning service will get customers from across the Esk Valley to James Cook University Hospital before 9am for those early appointments, and on to Middlesbrough and Newcastle for work and leisure.
“The launch of the new service is perfectly timed for Christmas shoppers, and with tickets available for just £2, it’s a brilliant opportunity to try the train and pick up those last minute gifts without the stress of the car.”
Alex Hornby, Commercial and Customer Director for Northern
