Dovetail Games is continuing its Season of Reveals 2025 with its Week 2 reveals and updates of a line in Kent and a German locomotive.

The major reveal this week is The Medway Valley Line for Train Sim World 6 from Firefly Simulations, which takes players through the Garden of England, from Strood to Maidstone, then on to Paddock Wood and Tonbridge. It includes many historical and natural features, listed buildings, and manual signal boxes still in use.

Also included is the line from Gravesend to Rainham in the Southeastern Highspeed Add-on, which will allow gameplay at places such as Hoo Junction and Gillingham depot.

Compared with the Southeastern Highspeed Add-on, there are significant additions that increase the route mileage by 26 new and 13 updated miles.

Firefly has captured the route in great detail, with a level of quality for PC players similar to that of the Fife Circle and West Coast Main Line enhancement modifications. Primary traction is Class 375/3 electric multiple units (EMU), with a more in-depth simulation of UK GSM-R (Global System for Mobile Communications – Railway), which allows a headcode to be keyed in at the start of a service. It also allows for a simulated conversation with a signaller, with different voices depending on the particular signal box.

The Add-on provides a new sound set, full guard mode functionality, and on-board passenger announcements. Also included is a Class 375/6 that provides options for both three and four-car versions of the Class 375, and options for the previous Adtranz-style headlights are available.

The timetable is based on the 2025 working timetable, providing half-hourly service between Strood and Paddock Wood, with some extended to Tonbridge, and other movements throughout the day.

Adding variety around the North Kent area is a Class 395 from Southeastern Highspeed and Class 465s, which make occasional visits to the Medway Valley Line. Freight action is catered for with the lineside industry in Aylesford, Tonbridge West Yard, and Hoo Junction.

Elsewhere, Dovetail Games has announced a German DB BR 147 for Train Sim World 6, with timetables that support both the new Frankenbahn: Stuttgart-Heilbronn release and an alternative timetable from 2010
